No-Confidence motion against TMC defeated, but Congress and Left still defiant

During the debate, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “Those who do not have confidence in their own parties are bringing a no-confidence motion against our government. This is baseless since in the Lok Sabha we are adjusting with your parties on demonetisation.”

Left Front legislative party leader Sujan Chakraborty said, “We were forced to bring this no-confidence because of the misrule going on all over the state.”

Congress’s Abdul Mannan earlier this week had said the no-trust motion was a protest against the way TMC allegedly poached its MLAs, elected representatives in rural bodies and municipalities.
