Conor McGregor cast as a villain on ‘Game of Thrones’

It’s official: The “Notorious” one is coming to “Game of Thrones.”

UFC President Dana White has confirmed reports saying producers from the hit HBO show had cast Conor McGregor in a small, villainous role for season 7.

“I’m glad he did it. It’ll be great,” White said during an appearance on “Fox Sports Live” this week.

“The show’s huge, it’s awesome and I’m excited for him.”

On Monday, the Northern Ireland newspaper, The Sunday Life, reported that McGregor had been “headhunted” by a “GoT” director who wanted him to make a cameo in one of the remaining two seasons.

“They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show,” a source told the paper.

White said he had been contacted about the appearance earlier in the year.

“I did hear that and I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show,” he explained.

According to a report on the “GoT” site, Watchers on the Wall, the UFC champ will be playing a soldier on a vessel known as the “Silence,” which is captained by Euron Greyjoy, King of the Iron Islands.

In the books, the ship is manned by crew of pirates — all of whom have had their tongues cut out in the attempt to avoid rebellion. So don’t expect McGregor to be saying much.

It is still unclear whether the MMA sensation will be facing off against the show’s most infamous gladiator — Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane, who is played by 6-foot-9-inch Icelandic strongman Hafþór Júlíus “Thor” Björnsson.

A video of the two men playfully sparring in a gym went viral last year, sparking verbal bouts on social media over who would win a real fight.
