Leave your stress behind with Park Hyatt Tokyo's Park Siesta

Club on the Park, The Park Hyatt Tokyo’s exclusive spa, is now offering the Park Siesta package -- an opportunity for non-staying guests to experience the finest in luxurious treatments this exceptional oasis has to offer.

Already feeling the weight of the year upon my shoulders, and the dry Tokyo air starting to take its toll on my skin, I made my way to the 45th floor, seeking some serious self-indulgence. On arrival, I was greeted with the kind of service one would expect from a 5-star luxury hotel spa; professional, warm and welcoming. Feeling instantly calmed, and more than ready for an hour of blissful relaxation, I was asked to select the style of music I wished to accompany my treatment. Definitely a tougher decision than initially anticipated. After some close competition with Healing Water and Smooth Jazz, I opted for Relaxation. Next, it was post-treatment tea selection time, where Revive, a blend of Green Tea, Orange Peel and Peppermint, seemed like it might be necessary after my music choice.

It was then to the changing rooms to don my robe while taking in the Tokyo city skyline, impossible to avoid when surrounded by towering glass windows offering incredible vistas from every angle.

I padded along the soft carpet, dutifully following my aesthetician. She opened the treatment room door to reveal yet another stunning view of the city. After a silent peruse of the bustling metropolis far below, I was ready to check out of the city and indulge in some serious R&R, my head literally in the clouds.

The 60-minute Hungarian Facial was my treatment of choice, lured by its unfamiliarity and also its use of Omorovicza products; a mineral-based skincare range originating from Budapest, free from nasty ingredients.

The treatment takes you on a heavenly journey of cleansing balms, hydrating essences, balancing moisturisers, an upper body massage and finishes with the Midas touch; a Gold Flash firming serum to soothe and firm the skin thanks to the primary ingredient of anti-inflammatory gold.

To say you will be left floating on Cloud 9 is an understatement. I’m quite sure my feet did not actually touch the ground as I was escorted to a large, reclining lounge on which to revive thanks to my tea.

The Park Siesta does not stop there. The package includes one of three culinary options, depending on the time of day you visit. Mine was an afternoon affair, so my spa treatment was topped off with The Peak Lounge Afternoon Tea on the 41st floor; a sumptuous array of sandwiches, scones and pastries paired with a vast selection of teas including a premium range from “Yamato-cha” Nara, Inokura; the Lemongrass blend being particularly fragrant and refreshing.

Revitalised, and feeling particularly confident thanks to my glowing skin, I left ready to take on numerous "bonenkai" parties and a house full of relatives for the holidays. The Park Siesta makes for the perfect gift this holiday season; or perhaps give a gift unto yourself ... you know you deserve it.
