The election to the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad will be held on January 8.
According to a notification issued by Dalip Singh, State Election Commissioner, the nomination can be filed from December 21 to December 27. Scrutiny will be held on December 28. The date of withdrawal and allotment of symbols is December 29.
Similarly, voting will be held between 8 am and 5 pm. Counting will start immediately after the polling.
Dalip Singh said the election would be be conducted with EVMs. As many as 20 of the 40 wards of the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad, are reserved— four (for SC members), two (SC women), two (BC) and 12 (women). As many as 887 polling stations have been set up for the election.
The NOTA (none of the above) option will be used in the Municipal Corporation elections for the first time.
