Speaker reviews Winter Session preparations

KANGRA: A high-level meeting was today held at the legislative Assembly complex under the chairmanship of the Speaker BBL Butail at Tapovan to discuss the security and other arrangements regarding the Winter Session of the Assembly scheduled to start on December 19 here.

KANGRA, DECEMBER 8

A high-level meeting was today held at the legislative Assembly complex under the chairmanship of the Speaker BBL Butail at Tapovan to discuss the security and other arrangements regarding the Winter Session of the Assembly scheduled to start on December 19 here.

The meeting was held with the district authorities who took stock of the situation ahead of the session. The meeting was attended by the Secretary Vidhan Saba Sunder Singh Verma, Inspector General of Police GD Bhargav, Additional Deputy Commissioner Richa Verma, Kangra district police chief Sanjeev Gandhi, ADM Balbir Thakur and other senior officers of Vidhan Sabha. In the meeting issues of security scenario and security arrangement besides the traffic management were deliberated upon. The arrangements for the members of the Cabinet, MLAs and senior bureaucrats too were discussed.

Butail said the entire session would be paperless as usual and all the officers have been directed to carry out the official business without using paper.

He directed the authorities to take all appropriate steps for maintaining the law and order, medical arrangements within the Vidhan Shaba complex and make special arrangements in the Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala, and the DRPGM College Tanda. Officers of the Public Works Department, the IPH, Tourism, Health and Public relations department have been directed to take required step in view of the winter session.
