Amy MellenNew York – Amy Mellen is reportedly leaving Calvin Klein’s home division after 17 years with the company.

According to a report in WWD, the senior vp of home is exiting the company at the end of this month.

Mellen was originally hired to handle bedding. “On my first week, my boss showed me a box of white linen and asked which was my favorite. I was like, Oh my god… they’re all exactly alike!” she recalled in an interview posted at One Kings Lane.

She added: “When I became the creative director, there was almost a sadness for me—I just couldn’t be as hands-on as I wanted to be. Before, I would paint all the beds myself. That was a hard transition.”

As svp for home, Mellen oversaw the development of bedding, bath, table linens, rugs, furniture, fabric, tabletop and gifts.

Since Calvin Klein brought on Raf Simons as chief creative officer in August, three of the brand’s five creative directors have been let go or left the company. Mellen’s departure brings the number up to four.
