Ashwin has been India’s go-to bowler in almost all formats, in sub-continental conditions for over four years now. Ever since India won the 50 overs World Cup at home, Ashwin marked his presence at the highest level by justifying his selection; a big thanks to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has been a big support to the Tamil Nadu off-spinner since Indian Premier League’s (IPL) inception way back in 2008. His bowling exploits were very well discovered by Dhoni, who also captained Ashwin in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp.
