Le'Veon Bell is one of the league's most dynamic players, and as such, he can be a source of frustration for opponents, particularly late in games. That was the case Sunday, when the Steelers running back rushed for 118 yards and had another 64 yards in receiving.

The boiling point came late in the fourth quarter. Bell and the Steelers were running out the clock on their eventual 24-14 win, but not before the seemingly routine turned into a head-turner -- literally.

Here's Bell, already down, getting his neck wrenched by Giants linebacker Kelvin Sheppard:

This did not sit well with Bell's teammates, particularly right guard Ramon Foster, who hip-tossed Sheppard off the pile.

On Wednesday, Bell was asked about the incident.

"[Foster] didn't kick him but [his response] means everything in the world to me. It lets me know that the offensive line always has my back, you know. At the time, I wasn't even aware of what was going on ... but once I heard him pulling guys off me [and] I saw the scramble after the play, then I saw the play on Twitter, I was like, '... They were really trying to hurt me.'

"But I'm glad I got my guys -- I call them my goons --- up front because they're down to ride with me for whatever.

Bell added: "Guys always feel like they've got to -- for whatever reason -- feel like they got to try to hurt me, take me out of the game. I've got to protect myself."

It's a point he's made before.

Bell's 2015 season officially ended in Week 8 when Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict took him down on what some people -- including Bell and his Steelers' teammates -- thought was an intentional and dirty hit.

"I take the liberty to thinking that everybody plays football just for love of the game," Bell said last May, via Ech Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "But people aren't out here playing like that, people are out here to try to really take people out, so obviously I know that now. I wish I wasn't ignorant of that fact before but now I just know I just have to take extra precaution of getting down or protecting myself because people are actually trying to take me out of the game. I'll just make sure I protect myself."
