Some NFL players are known for their alternative and quirky sense of style, which have been on show throughout the 2016 season.

On Wednesday, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr took things to a new level when he arrived at the team press conference wearing a Yoda onesie to address the media.

When asked about his unusual outfit choice, Smith said he was encouraged to buy the onesie after trying it on at a charity Christmas event.

"At the Holiday Helper event, they had it. It's been a few decades since I've worn a onesie so I tried it on, bought it and now I have to use it."

Smith has hosted the charity event for the past 12 years. Each Christmas, Smith and the Ravens cheerleaders work as personal shoppers for children in the Baltimore area.

Last year, Smith wished for a healthy Achilles after missing time with the injury. He appears to have got his wish, having started every game this season and drawing praise from head coach John Harbaugh.
