Digital security experts Gemalto have announced its latest version of LinqUS Device Management solution which should help mobile operators provide subscribers with a simple journey to LTE

Gemalto's latest version of LinqUS Device Management is designed to help mobile phone operators provide a smooth transition for customers to LTE.

The latest solution in device management demonstrates the increasing usage and popularity of LTE-capable devices. By 2020, it is expected that that LTE will account for 72 per cent of global smartphone shipments.

As it stands, most of the African continent is using 4G/LTE, but there are still come areas and crucially, some network providers which are not using 4G/LTE.

However, from 15 - 17 November, LTE Africa, which co-located with AfricaCom showed the full benefits of LTE to the continent from the show in Cape Town, South Africa.

While the transition is taking place, Eritrea for example, according the worldtimezone.com, does not have any LTE, 4G, or even 3G connectivity capabilities. This can have severe implications for small business owners and others who require reliable internet access in remote locations.

However, Djibouti already has 3G and 3.5G deployed across the country. Furthermore, 4G LTE Telecom is being tested in 10 cities around Djibouti. This is were Gemalto and its device management solution can help in getting all these LTE capable devices online and running faster internet speed.
