Mercedes Reveals The New E-Class Coupé — Gets A Hot AMG E50 Variant
The AMG E50 Will be the first model from Mercedes to receive the all-new M256, in-line, six-cylinder petrol engine.
Mercedes has revealed the new E-Class coupé. An even hotter AMG version, dubbed the E50, is due for second half of 2017, powered by an all-new in-line six-cylinder engine.
Once launched, the Mercedes-AMG E50 Coupé 4Matic will be the craziest version of the E-Class line-up. Mercedes came up with the new hot coupé as a celebration of 50 years of AMG.
The cars electrically turbocharged, 3.0-litre engine produces 402bhp and is combined with an integrated starter generator and electric auxiliary compressor that enables a performance boost when required.
Being 4827mm long, and 1860mm wide, the new E-Class Coupé is longer, and wider than the C-Class Coupe. The added length will result in extra cabin space.
The standard E200 Coupé with an 181 bhp, 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and an E300 Coupe with the same engine but tuned to produce 241 bhp. The top variant with the petrol engine will be the E400 Coupé.
The diesel versions will be the E220d Coupe fitted with a new turbocharged, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine producing 192 bhp, and an E350d Coupe with a turbocharged, 3.0-litre V6 engine that can produce 250 bhp.
