BOKARO: The administration jointly with Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) began a survey of Dundibagh market which will be shifted for the expansion of airport. More than 2,000 vendors will be shifted to another site at the old bus stand allotted by the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL). The verification process of the vendors will begin from Wednesday.
Chas SDM Shashi Ranjan said that there are 10 teams with a videographer who are compiling name and other details of the vendors during the verification process in Dundibagh.

The area is spread across 40 acres. Dundibagh is the biggest market of the town. “Shifting of Dundibagh is necessary for the development of the airport. The verification will ensure transparency,” he added.
Dundibagh, where market has come up in the last three decades, is recorded as an encroached land of BSL.
On Tuesday, DC Rai Mahimapat Rai alongwith Bokaro MLA, Biranchi Narayan and senior BSL officials held a public meeting with vendors at Dundibagh and requested them to shift to other places for the sake of development. Vendors demanded fresh survey and allotment of shops.
Rai said, “A survey to count the number of persons living in Dundibagh will be done soon. BSL will provide land while the administration will come up with a complex which will be allotted to the shifted vendors. Banks will also provide loans to them. We have got positive response from the shopkeepers and vendors in this regard.”
