VARANASI: While the logjam in Parliament continues over demonetisation issues, the Congressmen here in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency will begin a Sawal Satyagrah (question campaign) from December 11 to 22.
Led by Congress MLA Ajay Rai, who lost to Modi in 2014 Lok Sabha election, the Congress cadre will go to people with questions on demonetisation, recovery of black money, cashless economy and plight of common man.

“It is now clear that demonetization failed to curb black money,” said senior Congress leader Satish Rai further adding that now the lesson of cashless economics is being taught to the common man, who is facing the brunt of demonetization.
During the campaign, the Congressmen will ask questions like how much black money was returned to governments coffer, why people are compelled to stand in long queues, who is responsible for the sufferings of people and why there is rationing on legal money of people, said former vice president of Cantonment Board Shailendra Singh.
“We will keep haunting the PM by raising his unfulfilled promises,” said Ajay Rai, further adding that Congress president Sonia Gandhi will also be requested to make another visit to the city to boost the morale of the party workers.
“During her visit to the city on August 2, Sonia had witnessed huge participation of Congress supporters in her roadshow. She, however, had to cut short the road show due to ill health and could not go to Kashi Vishwanath temple. We will suggest her to offer prayer at the temple in her next visit,” he said.
