Foreign research scholar attacked, FIR lodged

A foreign research scholar at faculty of law in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) was attacked with a sharp object by some bike-borne men on the campus on Tuesday midnight. An FIR has been lodged at Lanka police station in this connection.

VARANASI: A foreign research scholar at faculty of law in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) was attacked with a sharp object by some bike-borne men on the campus on Tuesday midnight. An FIR has been lodged at Lanka police station in this connection.
According to BHU spokesperson, Rajesh Singh, foreign national Fardeen Ahmad, who is currently a research scholar at faculty of law in BHU and stays with his wife, stepped out of his room in International hostel on Tuesday midnight to throw some trash.
He was waylaid by unidentified bike-borne men who started interrogating him. After sometime they attacked him with a sharp object and fled. Ahmad was admitted to the Trauma Centre for treatment and was discharged on Wednesday.
The student informed the proctorial board immediately after the incident who later informed the Lanka police. Lanka SO said that an FIR was lodged against three unidentified persons by the victim and the matter is being investigated.
