QIIB keen to promote innovations: CEO

Qatar’s Shariah-compliant lender QIIB and leading insurance company Qatar Islamic Insurance Company (QIIC) made their presence at the prestigious “Best Arab Award” ceremony held in Marrakech, Morocco. QIIB and QIIC were the strategic sponsors of the high-profile event.
Addressing the ceremony Abdulbasit Ahmed Al Shaibei, CEO, QIIB said  the QIIB is committed to encouraging creativity and innovations in the finance sector across the region.
Al Shaibei stated: “The board of directors of QIIB was eager to support the ‘Best Arabs Awards’ since it truly believes in encouraging excellence. We believe it is the responsibility of the banks and financial institutions to encourage and promote such initiatives”.
“We are interested in the Moroccan banking market. We have already applied for establishing a bank in the country in cooperation with a local strategic partner.
Hence, we are really interested in the activities that offer added value to the relevant sectors in the country’s overall growth”.
The Best Arab Awards is a special and unique event as it encourages creativity and achievements, and honours the values of work in wide range of sectors. QIIB is always happy to support these endeavours, he said.
Ali Ibrahim Al AbdulGhani, CEO of QIIC received the Best Arab Managing Team Award in the Insurance Sector.
