Iraqi air attacks kill 60 people in Al-Qa'im

BAGHDAD, Dec 7 (KUNA) -- Nearly six dozen people were killed in airstrikes by the Iraqi army on Al-Qa'im - one of three towns still held by the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Al-Anbar governorate, west Iraq, near the borders with Syria, on Wednesday.
The majority of victims are civilians, member of the security committee of the Iraqi parliament Mohammad Al-Karboli told reporters.
The council of Al-Anbar governorate asked the army to open urgent probe into the incident and determine the causes of the fatal military mistakes which lead to civilian casualties, spokesman of the council Eid Ayyash said. (end) aah.gb
