The Huron Carole Benefit Concert Series, led by actor- singer Tom Jackson, gave a surprise concert in Virden, Manitoba Tuesday after the band was stranded in the town.

Jackson’s cross-country tour of The Huron Carole was scheduled to play in Brandon but they couldn’t get there because the RCMP closed the Trans-Canada Highway.

About 150 people came out in the blowing snow to enjoy the unscheduled concert in the town near the Manitoba-Saskatchewan boundary.

When the band became was stuck in Virden, they decided to make the best of a bad situation and give people a show.

Jackson’s Huron Carole is a project of the Christmas & Winter Relief Association whose mandate is to support organizations doing hands-on work with the homeless and hungry in Canada.
