Yusen Logistics Benelux has received the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (IATA CEIV Pharma) certification, making it the first air freight forwarder at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to land this accreditation.
The IATA CEIV Pharma programme was created to provide guidelines to help organisations and the entire air cargo supply chain to achieve consistent excellence in pharmaceutical air freight handling.
The company participated in the IATA-CEIV Pharma certification programme in an effort to take its Pharma Gateway Amsterdam operation beyond good distribution practice (GDP) compliance and to meet the highest possible quality standards in global pharmaceutical air freight, reported American Journal of Transportation (AJOT).
Deputy general manager Air Freight Forwarding of Yusen Logistics Benelux, Etienne Vesseur, commented: "IATA CEIV-certification underlines Yusen Logistics' total commitment to the safe transportation of high-value temperature and time sensitive shipments of pharmaceuticals."
Yusen Logistics participates in the joint Schiphol Cargo and Air Cargo Netherlands programme to become the Preferred European Pharma Gateway, which was launched at the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Berlin on March 16. The Pharma Gateway Amsterdam concept stands for quality, transparency, innovation, efficiency and the best connections in pharmaceutical air freight.
