The Daily Mail reported Sanchez is using offers from CSL clubs reportedly worth £400,000 per week ($681,000) to try and get the club to smash its wage structure in order to keep him.

Arsenal is currently in talks with the 27-year-old about extending his current deal beyond its remaining 18 months.

Sanchez currently earns £130,000 a week and can expect a new deal worth about £200,000 per week before tax — a contract that would make him the club’s best-paid player.

While Arsenal would be unable to compete with China’s big money — or some of the offers that could potentially come through from elsewhere in Europe — it’s understood Sanchez is using his other offers to drive up his asking price with the Gunners.

The forward is currently in sublime form at the Emirates, with his dominant performance against West Ham capping off his recent purple patch.

I WILL MANAGE INTER MILAN: SIMEONE

The Atletico Madrid manager was responding to comments from his son Giovanni, who said he hoped to see his father “sign for Inter at some point.”

Simeone said he had no issues with the younger Simeone’s comments, saying he maintained aspirations of one day coaching the club he played at from 1997 to 1999.

“It is normal that my son, my father, my sister, my wife would say that I will train Inter in the future, because they know some day I will lead Inter,” Simeone said.

“I have nothing to say about my future. It is abundantly clear.’”

SPURS LOOK TO DODGE DEFENDER’S RELEASE CLAUSE

TOTTENHAM is keen to lock defender Toby Alderweireld well beyond an alleged 2019 release clause.

Spurs had consistently denied the defender has a release clause in his contract, despite Belgian newspaper Le Soir saying Alderweireld has a £25.4 million release clause for the summer of 2019.

But Spurs and Alderweireld look set to lock down a long-term offer that would take the defender’s contract well beyond that date.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said he wasn’t aware of any contract

“I don’t know the details of his contract,” he said.

“But not one player has a buy-out clause, I have never heard that in England.

“It’s a detail I really don’t know.”

The Mirror reported Tottenham will now look to remove the clause to end the extremely remote possibility of any issue in the future.

GUARDIOLA WON’T RULE OUT TARGETING DEMBELE

MANCHESTER City manager Pep Guardiola has labelled Moussa Dembele as “exceptional” and won’t rule out the Celtic striker as a transfer target.

The French striker scored twice for Celtic against City in their Champions League clash back in September.

Dembele has been in remarkable form for Celtic, netting 17 goals for the club, while he also scored a brace for France’s Under-21s against England.

“If you read the newspapers in the last six months, since I became a coach at Manchester City, maybe I have had contact with 126 players to buy them for Manchester City,” Guardiola said.

“Dembele is another one. Every week I have contact for the next season to change players. Alexis (Sanchez) was the last one.

“But the quality (in Dembele) is there. He is an exceptional player.”

EVERTON SET TO RAMP UP DEPAY CHASE

RONALD Koeman is set to intensify his pursuit of Manchester United forward Memphis Depay, following an ACL injury to winger Yannick Bolasie.

Depay has been out of favour at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho, having played just 20 minutes of Premier League action under the manager, with those minutes coming back in October.

The Daily Mail reported Koeman is likely to look to secure Depay on loan in January in a move that could both replenish Everton’s attacking stocks and get the forward’s career back on track.
