Hyderabad: Visitors to be greeted with attractive arches

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has installed 'welcome arches' at several entry points.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has installed 'welcome arches' at several entry points to the city, each costing Rs 1 crore like the one at Jodimetla on Gatkesar Road.

The arches include iron-made replicas of Birla Temple, the Buddha statue, Charminar, Golconda Fort and other iconic structures from the city. The GHMC plans to install 14 such ‘welcome arches’, most likely on NH-7 Kurnool Road, Srisailam Road, Sagar Road, Vijayawada Road, Uppal-Warangal Road, Dam-maiguda X Road, Alwal- Rajeev Rahadari Road, NH7-Medchal-Kompally Road, Jeedimetla-Narsapur Road, Ramchandrapuram-Patancheru Road, Expressway-Nanakramguda Road, Osmansagar Road and Himayathsagar Road. A GHMC officer said that the arches will indicate the start of GHMC limit and will carry other information also.
