Minor sodomised by miscreants in Punjab

Mullanpur police on Monday arrested three miscreants for sodomising a minor boy of their village Dholan in Mullanpur area. Police is also looking for three other accused in the case one of whom allegedly fired at his father after he refused for compromise.

LUDHIANA: Mullanpur police on Monday arrested three miscreants for sodomising a minor boy of their village Dholan in Mullanpur area. Police are also looking for three other accused in the case one of whom allegedly fired at his father after he refused for compromise. The accused were identified as Kamal Singh, Jagraj Singh, Mandeep Singh. Those who are on the run included Raja, Jaggu, all of Dholan village.

Police officials said that as per the father of the victim, who is around 13-year-old, his son, who is student of seventh standard, was playing in his school ground on December 1. They added that the father of the victim told cops that the accused forcibly took his son to a tube-well room and sodomised him one by one.
Victim’s father told cops that later they threatened to kill his son if he revealed anything. He added that after his son told him about the incident, he lodged a complaint against the miscreants.
The father of victim further said that after the accused came to know about him lodging a complaint against them, they came to their home on Saturday evening and tried to force them for compromise. He added after they refused, one of the miscreants Jaggu fired at him with his revolver outside his home but luckily the bullet missed him hitting shutter of his house after which he informed police again.
Mullanpur cops booked the accused for under Sections 377 (sodomy/unnatural sex), 212 (harbouring offender), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 452 (House-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), 307 (attempt to murder), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual offences Act.
Station house officer (SHO) Mullanpur police station Gurpreet Singh said that three accused have been arrested in the case and hunt is on for the remaining accused. He added that the accused, who allegedly fired at the family member of the accused, is among the accused on the run.
