Australia take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy after winning the second ODI against New Zealand by 116 runs at Canberra. Jeemy Neesham’s 74 and Kane Williamson’s 81 weren’t enough for the visitors as the Black Caps didn’t get substantial contributions from other batsmen. Williamson’s knock of 81 from 80 balls, which had five fours and two sixes, was not sufficient as the asking rate kept increasing and was over 11 after 34 overs. Earlier, it was David Warner and skipper Steven Smith who set a platform for Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh to push the total to a mammoth 378. Warner hit his sixth one-day century of the year to lead Australia to an imposing 378 for five after being sent into bat by New Zealand in the second ODI of the three-match series.
