Flight carrying Kerala Governor P Sathasivam, CM Pinarayi Vijayan diverted here enroute Chennai

They were going to Chennai from Thiruvananthapuram to pay homage to AIADMK Supremo and Jayalalithaa.

Coimbatore, Dec 6 :  A Chennai-bound private airlines carrying Kerala Governor P Sathasivam and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan landed and halted for nearly 20 minutes at the city airport today, police said. They were going to Chennai from Thiruvananthapuram to pay homage to AIADMK Supremo and Jayalalithaa.

As the landing time of the flight carrying President Pranab Mukherjee in Chennai happens to be the same, the Thiruvananthapuram flight was diverted to Coimbatore and landed at around two PM, police said. After getting green signal, the flight left for Chennai around 2.20 PM, they said.
