24-year-old physiotherapist found dead in Mumbai

The Vile Parle police are investigating the death of a 24-year-old woman, a physiotherapist by profession, who was found hanging in her room with smoke emanating from it in Vile Parle (East) in the early hours of Tuesday. The police said there are burn marks on her face.
The woman lived in the one-plus structure with her family with her parents.
A police source said, “Prima facie, it seems to be a case of murder. But we are awaiting the PM report.”
According to Vile Parle police, the incident took place somewhere before 3.30am. They got a call from a local resident saying smoke was emanating from a small room in Leelabai Chawl on Shraddhanand Road.
The woman was found in a small room above the ground floor, where she lived, while her family lived in the room on the ground floor. Her room had a separate door.
Her body has been sent to Cooper hospital for a post mortem. The report is awaited.
