President to arrive in Kurukshetra today for Gita Jayanti festival

KURUKSHETRA: President Pranab Mukherjee will be in Kurukshetra on Tuesday to inaugurate International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav and take part in the Holy Gita Yagya and Brahmasarovar Pooja.
The President will attend the event for about an hour. During the visit, he will also inaugurate Shri Krishna Circuit Project and Saraswati River Project.
Deputy comissioner Sumedha Kataria confirmed the President's visit. "He will be here from 11.30am to 12.25pm," Kataria said.
The President will also inaugurate an international semniar on Bhagvad Gita.
Kurukshetra University vice-chancellor Kailash Chandra Sharma said KU was all geared up for the inaugural session of the international seminar ‘Bhagavad Gita: Holistic Life Management and World Heritage Tourism'. He added that governor Kaptan Singh Solanki would preside over the event, while chief minister Manohar Lal would be the guest of honour.
He said the seminar had generated tremendous response and luminaries from over a dozen countries were coming for the event.
Seminar director Prof Manjula Chaudhary said delegates from USA, Japan, Vietnam, Mauritius, Nepal, Germany, and many other countries had confirmed their participation. She said the theme of the inaugural session would be Bhagvad Gita and holistic life management. "On the second day, the technical session will be on lessons form Bhagavad Gita for goodwill, peace and spiritual tourism. The theme for the technical session on the third day will be philosophy and psychology of Bhagavad Gita. On the final day, scholars will deliberate on relevance of Bhagavadgita in modern-day lives," Chaudhary said.
