Summer placement drive concludes at IIM-Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad: The summer placement process for the class of 2018 of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has completed within three clusters with students being placed across 17 sectors and functions of their choice. Amazon was the top recruiter for the summer placement process having made 21 offers
There were more than 130 students who made their dream applications this year.
This year, students also had the opportunity to work under the mentorship of Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at IIM-A on their entrepreneurial ideas. This year five students opted out of the placement process to work on their own ventures, under the guidance and mentorship of CIIE.
Among Management Consulting cohort of firms, Accenture Strategy made 16 offers, the highest number. Among the Global Banks cohort, Bank of America Merrill Lynch made six offers. American Express and FinIQ were the joint top recruiters in the banking, finance services and insurance (BFSI) cohort having made 6 offers each.
Hindustan Unilever recruited 10 students and was the highest recruiter in the Consumer Goods cohort, while Aditya Birla Group and Tata Administrative Service were the joint top recruiters in the General Management cohort with 10 offers each. Microsoft was the top recruiter in the Consumer Tech cohort with 7 offers. Vedanta, a new recruiter in the Core Manufacturing & Infra cohort made 6 offers.
Asha Kaul, chairperson of the placement committee said, “Forming new relationships and strengthening old ties have been clearly evident in the summer placement process of the current PGP batch.”
