ALLAHABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Parivartan yatra received a rousing welcome in the Trans-Yamuna area of the city on Monday. In their attempt to swing the electoral mood of the public in the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh towards BJP, party leaders took the opportunity to highlight Modi government’s achievements.
Senior party leaders interacted with people at Rampur, BPCL road, Pachdevara, Karchana and adjoining areas and claimed that there was a strong undercurrent in favour of BJP across the state.

Speaking on the occasion, senior BJP leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi said, “The NDA-led Union government was working for the welfare of the people and various development schemes are being initiated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development of the country”. She added that the prime minister has a vision for the country and he has been continuously working for the development agenda.
Speaking on the issue of demonetisation, the former Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee chief said there were some problems due to demonetization but the decision would yield the desired results in days to come.
Meanwhile, Joshi suffered a muscular injury when she lost her balance, while standing on the hydraulic platform from where she was addressing the public at Rampur. Supporters rushed her to a hospital for treatment. Doctors who treated the BJP leader claimed that there was no serious injury.
After covering trans-Yamuna areas, the yatra entered the city limits at Meva Lal Bagia locality under the City South assembly. BJP leaders present at the rally said “People now want to see honest leaders in power and they would vote for BJP in the upcoming 2017 Assembly polls,” a BJP leader present at the rally said.
Leaders also sought support and blessings of the public and thanked them for their support.
