KUWAIT: Interior Ministry’s Undersecretary Lt Gen Suleiman Al-Fahad praised yesterday the joint security cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq under deep and solid bilateral ties. Fahad made his remarks after meeting with the visiting Head of Iraqi Border Forces Command Hamid Ibrahim and his accompanying delegation, stressing the importance of joint and regular meetings in boosting mutual coordination, MoI said in a statement.

Such meetings also aim at overcoming obstacles and difficulties that hinder ways of cooperation between the two sides, in addition to enhancing the security readiness levels in both countries in light of current security developments in the region, he said.

Fahad conveyed to the visiting Iraqi delegation greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, pointing out the distinctive Kuwaiti-Iraqi relations. Meanwhile, Ibrahim expressed his gratitude and appreciation of Kuwait for the generosity and wellreception they received while in the country, and the friendly-cooperation atmosphere that Kuwaiti officials provided for the visiting guests. — KUNA
