ALE restructures for growth around regional market sectors

By

Alcatel Lucent Enterprise (ALE) has undertaken a major change to its worldwide sales structure, forming regional sales organisations to focus on servicing four major market sectors — healthcare, education, government and transportation — including in the Asia Pacific region.

The France-based global communications solutions and services giant says the changes to its sales organisation will allow the company to better serve its partners, customers and their markets.

Matthieu Destot, ALE’s newly appointed global executive vice-president of Sales and Marketing, says that by placing a focus on specific market segments for growth and accelerating the shift to new business models, each of the four regions will have its own dedicated sales staff supporting its defined industry-specific sales strategy, cloud sales strategy and channel strategy, with a complementary sales enablement and services delivery.

Destot is heading the APAC region until a new leader is announced by ALE, and will lead the formation of the new “go-to-market strategy” for APAC.

ALE is also planning to set up new teams to focus further on cloud-based services to deliver “innovative technology” and business models to enable new digital business environments.

“Whether public, private, hybrid, CPE-based, cloud-based or a combination of both, today’s enterprises have a multitude of choices to source technology that support their digital transformation goals,” Destot says.

“ALE is building a specialised global cloud services sales organisation to help partners and customers to understand how migration to the cloud can help them improve their business outcomes.”

Effective at the beginning of January next year, ALE’s APAC team under Destot will comprise four new leaders:

•            Verticals Sales team: Xiaoming Shi;

•            Channel & Distribution Sales team: Damien Delard;

•            Cloud and Subscription offer Sales team: Steve Saunders; and

•            Technical Sales & Services team: Samuel Tourbot.

And, under the restructure, Amit Raj Bathla will continue to lead the combined APAC marketing team, reporting to James Taylor, global head of marketing.
