Arsenal back in for Carlos Bacca; Manolo Gabbiadini on Everton's radar

The transfer window might be shut, but don't think the wheeling and dealing won't continue! Check out all the latest deals here.

Bacca to the future for Gunners boss Wenger

French champions Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca in recent months, but Arsenal might have moved ahead of them in the queue.

The Sun reports that the Gunners "are looking to boost their firepower with a £20 million move" for the Colombia international and have opened talks.

Although Alexis Sanchez is in sensational form up front, having scored a hat trick in Saturday's 5-1 demolition of West Ham, the Gunners have injury concerns over Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Lucas Perez.

The Sun says Wenger "is determined that the season won't be derailed by a lack of striking options" and has turned to a man who was a transfer target for him last year.

Bacca, 30, has had a tricky time of late and could be a candidate to move on as coach Vincenzo Montella looks to freshen up his Milan squad.

Meanwhile, the Sun adds that Wenger is interested in signing young West Ham defender Declan Rice.

It reports that the 17-year-old centre-back, who has already earned a place in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 setup, is seen by Arsenal as a star of the future.

Rice, who has produced a string of fine performances for the West Ham Under-23s, is highly rated by Hammers boss Slaven Bilic -- and the Sun warns that it would take a big bid to make him consider selling.

Toffees still keen on Gabbiadini

Everton have not given up in their long-running attempt to sign Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini, with the Mirror reporting that they "will maintain their interest despite having had a bid of £14.5 million rejected."

Manager Ronald Koeman had hoped to bring in the 25-year-old over the summer and remains keen for a deal to go through as he prepares for the potential departure of star striker Romelu Lukaku at the end of the season.

Gabbiadini would be likely to cost around £20 million, with recent reports suggesting Napoli could be ready to "bow to market pressures" when the window reopens.

In October, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport said the Serie A side were ready to consider letting him leave after his sending off against Crotone.

Stoke, Saints seek Schalke striker

Schalke's Eric Choupo-Moting is wanted by both Stoke and Southampton, according to the Mirror.

Choupo-Moting, a Cameroon international, joined Schalke from Mainz in 2014 and has six months remaining on his deal with the Bundesliga club.

The Mirror says Stoke boss Mark Hughes is looking at the 27-year-old as a potential replacement for Wilfried Bony, who has been linked with a move to the Chinese Super League.

His Saints counterpart Claude Puel, meanwhile, is "keen to increase his depth up front as the club attempt to force their way into the European places."

Tap-ins

- Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has become something of a cult hero during his time at St. James' Park but could be on his way in January, the Chronicle reports.

It says West Ham -- struggling for goals and form -- and Crystal Palace are both ready to make an offer for the Serb.

Mitrovic is behind Dwight Gayle in manager Rafa Benitez's plans but has still managed to score five times for the Championship leaders this season.

- Hull City boss Mike Phelan needs another striker after Will Keane was ruled out for 12 months with knee ligament damage, and the Hull Daily Mail says Middlesbrough's out-of-favour Jordan Rhodes could be the man.

Scotland international Rhodes has made only four appearances for Boro this season, and Phelan is weighing up a move for the 26-year-old, who has spent prolific spells with Huddersfield Town and Blackburn Rovers.
