DEHRADUN: Gearing up for the upcoming polls in Uttarakhand, the ruling Congress on Sunday announced a 30-member state election committee, which did not throw any surprise and included chief minister Harish Rawat, state party president Kishore Upadhyaya and all the cabinet ministers and MPs.
The party also announced a 23-member state manifesto committee for the poll-bound state.
After the announcement, Upadhyaya said that more Congress leaders are likely to be added in the election committee and permission in this regard has been taken from the high command.

“There are a couple of Congress leaders who should be the part of the election committee and their names will be included soon. I have already informed the central leadership about it. Leaders like Cabinet minister Rajendra Bhandari will be included in election committee,” said Upadhyaya.
The AICC on Saturday issued “Sonia Gandhi-approved” state election committee and state manifesto committee list.
The manifesto committee will be headed by state transport minister Navprabhat.
The meeting of both the committees is expected to be convened soon, said Upadhyaya.
Referring to the manifesto committee, the state Congress president said that he would suggest its members to visit all the 70 assembly constituencies and form a separate manifesto for each segment keeping in mind the different problems and demands of every constituency.
