Jayasurya to play a thug in  Sajid Yahiya’s next

The movie will have Thrissur Pooram as its backdrop and will be shot live during the festival in May

After IDI (Inspector Dawood Ibrahim), Jayasurya and director Sajid Yahiya are getting back together for a movie with Thrissur Pooram as its backdrop. The movie that will be shot live during Thrissur Pooram in May has Jayasurya playing a thug, according to the director.

“This is basically a gangster story. Jayasurya plays a thug from Thrissur. The movie will be made in five parts, based on the Pooram schedule from   ‘Kodiyettam’ to ‘Upacharam Cholli Piriyal’. The protagonist is inspired by  Varaal Jaison, a notorious gangster based in Thrissur played by Jayasurya in Gangs of Vadakkumnathan,” says Sajid.The director adds that the lead lady is yet to finalised for the movie.
“Jayasurya has given the nod for the project. The other details are yet to finalised. We plan to shoot it during Pooram in May,” says the director.
Jayasurya had earlier sucessfully handled Thrissur dialect in Punyalan Agarbathis.
