PML-N deliberately lost to Jhangvi: Qadri

KARACHI -  Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri has said that Karachi, Waziristan and Quetta have witnessed operations against the terrorists, but no crackdown ever took place in Punjab that still remains the save haven for terrorism.

He was addressing a press conference at Khawaja House in Karachi on Sunday after reaching Pakistan from Canada.

PAT’s central leadership and that of Karachi chapter were also present on the occasion.

Talking about action by security agencies against terrorists in the country, PAT chief termed Punjab a safe haven for the terrorists, adding that Karachi operation’s success was linked to operation in Punjab.

“I cannot understand the objectives behind Karachi operation,” he said, adding that Karachi never had the issue of sectarian killings. “It came from Punjab,” he said categorically.

He further said that whenever there were sectarian tensions in the country, these all originated from Punjab.

He questioned that why people of Karachi and Sindh being treated as orphans.

“Terrorists were given shelter in Punjab,” he said, and added, “The country is passing through most crucial times, and peace cannot prevail until terrorism is uprooted from Punjab.”

Qadri accused that PML-N was trying to pave the way for ‘monarchy’ in the country. “The letter by Qatari prince has proved Nawaz Sharif’s corruption,” PAT chief said, and added, “Now it is a test of the institutions to declare him guilty.”

Qadri alleged that PML-N’s government intentionally lost the by-election in Jhang in favour of the candidate of a banned religious group.

“PML-N has never let any political party win any by-election, but just after the change of command in the army, the government assisted Sipah-e-Sahaba, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in winning the by polls,” he said.

He said called upon all political forces to unite and demand action against the government’s attempt to make Pakistan a monarchy.
