Faisalabad roads need early reconstruction

FAISALABAD-Road accidents and traffic jams have become order of the day as different roads and intersections have become shabby and need to be repaired or reconstructed immediately.
The district administration is planning to reconstruct different intersections and roads to ensure smooth flow of traffic and avoid road accidents. For the purpose, DCO Salman Ghani visited different roads and trouble points to check the issues of traffic according to the on ground facts. Nespak Engineer Amjad Saeed, DO Roads Iftikhar Ahmad, Traffic Engineer Shoib Sh and officers of revenue departments accompanied him.
The DCO went to Kashmir Bridge at Canal road which connects Jhumra road and different housing colonies. He observed the flow of traffic on the site and said that an underpass adjacent to Kashmir Bridge was imperative for durable and permanent solution to traffic issues. However, temporary solution would be envisaged for the relief of the citizens, he said.
He also visited Tezab Mills Chowk and sought proposals from traffic police to control the traffic on the site. He directed for devising planning for remodelling the Chowk. He examined the traffic issues at Bashir Nizami Chowk, Chenab Club Chowk, Lasanipuli Sargodha road, Bawa Chak chowk, Samana Pul, Nalka Kohala stop. He directed the engineers for relocation of different U turns and widening of chowks on Sargodha Road.
He directed for removal of encroachments and lifting of debris from the roads. He stressed closing the unnecessary and illegal U turns to avoid traffic accidents besides fixation of reflectors on the dividers of the roads for the facility of the drivers. He also directed for making planning for the remodelling of Chenab Chowk, Bashir Nizami Chowk, Ghazi Abdul Rasheed Chowk, Chenab Chowk Jhang Road, Susan Road Chowk and other intersections on different roads of the city.
