NIZAMABAD: The villagers of Khanapur in Armoor mandal passed a resolution on Sunday renaming the village as Kavithapur to express their gratitude to Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha for her help in village development.
Gram panchayat members handed over the resolution copy to Armoor MLA Ashannagari Jeevan Reddy, who visited the village on Sunday.
The MLA has forwarded the resoluti-on along with his recommendation letter to revenue officials for issuing a Gazette notification in this regard.
Khanapur is a submerged village of Sriramsagar project. Villagers had already set up new boards of Kavithapur in village entrance and gram panchayat office.
