Sunday's Belgian First Division A game between Charleroi and Standard Liege was abandoned after fans set off fireworks and threw coins, lighters and bottles onto the pitch.
Standard Liege were winning 3-1 away from home when referee Serge Gumienny ended the match in the 81st minute.
He had already stopped the game after Liege fans twice set off flares and threw objects onto the pitch.
When Charleroi fans did likewise, the referee abandoned the fixture.
League authorities will decide whether the result stands or the match be replayed.
On Saturday, the Ligue 1 match at Metz was abandoned after firecrackers were thrown at Lyon keeper Anthony Lopes.
Poland striker Robert Lewandowski was involved in a similar incident last month in a World Cup qualifier in Romania.
There was a capacity crowd just short of 15,000 inside the Stade du Pays de Charleroi on Sunday.
Charleroi are sixth in the 16-team Belgian top tier, four points behind leaders Zulte Waregem.
Standard Liege are seventh in the table.
