Bathinda, December 4

Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today held a series of meetings with party workers to gear up for a rally to kick off “Pani Bacho, Punjab Bacho” campaign on December 8 in Moga.

Sukhbir told Akali workers to ensure a mega show of political strength. It is expected that Sukhbir would formally sound the poll bugle for the 2017 Assembly elections on December 8.

Addressing the workers in Bathinda, Sukhbir said buses had already been allotted to the leaders in all constituencies so that workers and supporters in large numbers attend the rally.

He said the Akali Dal had started its election campaign from Moga in 2012 and this time too, the party would organise a massive rally in Moga to kick off its campaign. He said the event coincided with the birthday Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Cabinet minister Sikander Singh Maluka said 120 buses from Rampura, 75 Bathinda rural, 75 Bucho, 60 Talwandi Sabo, 40 Bathinda urban and 200 cars would go to Moga for the rally. Sukhbir later held a meeting at Mansa.
