The Seattle Seahawks will reportedly get one of their best players back on the field Sunday when they take on the Carolina Panthers. Star defensive lineman Michael Bennett is set to return from a knee injury that has kept him out for the team's last five games, according to multiple reports.

Bennett originally suffered the injury while being blocked below the waist against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6, but he played briefly the following week against the Arizona Cardinals before exiting for good. he subsequently had surgery to repair cartilage damage in the knee and has been out ever since.

The Seahawks went 3-2 in Bennett's absence and are right back near the top of the NFC playoff picture. They're not currently close to catching the Cowboys for the top overall seed in the conference, but they are slightly ahead of the Falcons and Lions (who have matching 7-4 records heading into Week 13) in the race for a first-round bye. Surely, having Bennett back on the field for a stretch run against the Panthers, Packers, Rams, Cardinals, and 49ers will help solidify that positioning.
