EastEnders: Danny Dyer to stay on until at least 2018

It’s contract time over at EastEnders HQ at the moment, and the good news is that lovable landlord, Mick Carter, played by the exceptional Danny Dyer, is set to remain on our screens until at least 2018…

…And then hopefully for a few more years after that in all.

The BBC are reportedly in negotiations with Danny about his popular role in the hit soap opera, and the star is keen to remain on the show for as long as possible.

A source told the Sunday Mirror: “It’s a little while off, but of course these things are planned a fair way in advance because of the way the show is filmed. Danny is so popular it’s a no-brainer.

“He’s very much in the plan for the show going forwards and he’s said himself how much he enjoys it. It’s been a great casting so far and everyone wants it to continue – especially the fans.”

Danny reportedly earned a huge £400,000 for his stint in Enders this year and it isn’t yet known whether or not show bosses intend to increase the amount in order for him to stay.

The Carter family joined the show back in 2013, also featuring Kellie Bright as Linda Carter, Danny-Boy Hatchard as Lee and Ted Reilly as Johnny, with the entire clan proving to be one of the most successful EastEnders families in recent years.
