Swansea defender Jordi Amat insists manager Bob Bradley has the backing of the players despite Saturday's 5-0 defeat to Tottenham.

Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen both scored twice and Heung-Min Son hit the net with a flying half-volley at White Hart Lane to send Swansea bottom of the Premier League table.

It means the Swans have won only once in the league since the opening day of the season and Bradley's men have conceded three or more goals in five of their last seven games.

Amat, however, believes changing the manager is not the answer.

"He has our backing," Amat said. "I don't think more changes will be good for us, we need to stick with him, stick together and get ready for these cup finals.

"We need better performances and we hope to show that this week.

"There was anger there in the dressing room and disappointment as with everyone we did not expect that."

Tottenham 5-0 Swansea

Swansea kept Tottenham at bay for 38 minutes but the floodgates opened after Kane opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

Referee Jonathan Moss's decision to award the spot-kick was controversial as Dele Alli threw himself to the ground despite minimal contact from defender Kyle Naughton.

"I think it was not a penalty," Amat said.

"It was a difficult decision, I was close to it and it was not a penalty. It was too easy for them to start from there, we conceded the goal and then they got another one on half-time.

"It was tough, we tried but right now is a difficult moment for us but I believe in us, there is a strong team here and we need to be better and show it."

Bradley says his side were second best as they lost 5-0 to Tottenham.

Swansea now face a crunch Christmas period which includes fixtures against Sunderland, West Brom, Middlesbrough, West Ham and Bournemouth.

The home game against Sunderland on Saturday appears particularly crucial, given the Black Cats also sit in the relegation zone and only two points ahead of the Swans.

"Next weekend is so important for us because it is a cup final," Amat said.
