Who can forget the coming-of-age movie Wake Up Sid starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sensharma?

Who can forget the coming-of-age movie Wake Up Sid starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sensharma? Directed by Ayan Mukerji the film was released in 2009. However, it still feels as new as if it was released only yesterday. The trio met recently and were captured in a single frame. Producer Karan Johar took to Twitter and shared the lovely picture.

The film was special for all three of them – Ranbir, Ayan and Konkona. It was a breezy take on life and its complexities. Ranbir’s innocent act is one of his most memorable performances onscreen. The film established him as an actor. On the other hand, Konkona gave her own sincerity and slowness to the film. Wake Up Sid was mostly shot in Mumbai. It also shared its fair share of controversies when MNS asked makers to change the word ‘Bombay’ to ‘Mumbai’ in the film.

 

The lead cast got great assistance from Anupam Kher and Supriya Pathak’s well-nuanced acting. And if that wasn’t enough, we had Rahul Khanna as icing on the cake. In one of his most sophisticated roles, Khanna played an editor of a magazine. Konkona found herself attracted to Khanna’s character. Konkona believed that she could only love mature and independent men. However, Konkona and Ranbir ended up sharing a beautiful relationship which grew stronger over a period of time.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s score did wonders for the movie. And you can still listen to people humming its soulful song ‘Iktara’. So, it’s not hard to guess that when Ranbir, Ayan and Konkona met, they would have had loads to talk about. We will love to see the three working on a film again.

Meanwhile, Ranbir and Ayan are working on their next film that is supposedly based on a superhero.
