4.8-magnitude quake strikes Andaman Islands

An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 struck Andaman Islands region earlier on Sunday, news agency ANI reported. No loss to life or property has been reported so far.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the quake occurred at 1:12 AM at the depth of 10 kms. The Andaman and Nicobar islands are known to be high seismic zone.
