Fake currency racket: Abhinav Verma made contacts at a paper mill in Mysuru says Police

In another twist in the fake currency racket, the police have claimed that the accused, Abhinav Verma, established contacts with some senior officials of a paper mill in Mysuru from where he purchased the high quality paper to print the fake notes of Rs. 2,000. Three victims have also came forward and lodged complaints with the police.

Police also said that since the accused visited more than 15 countries, he might be in contact with Pakistan’s spy agency Inter Services Intelligence (ISI). All the three accused – Abhinav, his cousin Vishakha and property dealer Suman Nagpal – were produced in court on Saturday, where police told the court that the accused had established links with some high ranking officials in a Mysuru paper mill.

After listening to the investigation officer, the court sent the trio to police remand till December 5.

The police officials said that the union government purchases paper from Mysuru, Nasik and Kolkata to print the currency notes, and Abhinav had some contacts in Mysuru. The officials said that they will soon be questioning the people from Mysuru.

Meanwhile, police officials also disclosed that during the investigation, the accused revealed that he had visited 16 countries. “We are suspecting that the accused had links with ISI. It is a very serious matter and we shall soon unearth the entire nexus and arrest all the culprits,” said a police officer.
