Legislative Assembly Speaker K B Koliwad on Saturday said he was contemplating streamlining the process of passing and adopting bills in the legislature.
Addressing a press meet following the conclusion of the winter session of the state legislature in Belagavi, he said the present process of passage of a bill was elaborate and time consuming. It involved the minister concerned seeking leave of the House for its introduction, then placing the bill before the House, discussion, and putting each provision of the bill to vote. He said the process could be streamlined and introduced in the next session of the legislature.
