Congress forms election, manifesto panels

DEHRADUN: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today aprroved the pradesh election committee and the election manifesto committee for the Assembly elections in the state.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi today aprroved the pradesh election committee and the election manifesto committee for the Assembly elections in the state.

Congress national general secretary Janardan Diwedi announced the setting up of the two committees. The pradesh election committee will comprise state Congress president Kishore Upadhyay, Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Indira Hridayesh, Yashpal Arya, Pritam Singh, Surendra Singh Negi, Dinesh Agarwal, Navprabhat, Pradeep Tamta, Mahendra Singh Mahra, Hira Singh Bisht, Furkan Ahmed, Anusyuia Prasad Maikhuri, Vijay Pal Sajwan, Sundar Lal Mandarwal, Mayuk Mehar, Ganesh Godiyal, KC Singh Baba, SP Singh, Mahendra Pal Singh, Tilak Raj Behad, Brhmaswaroop Brahmachari, Bhag Singh, Manvendra Singh, Vinod Vatsalya, Puskar Jain and Mamta Haldar.

Further, a 24-member election manifesto committee has been set up under the chairmanship of Navprabhat. Pradeep Tamta and Joth Singh Bisht have been made convener and secretary of the election manifesto committee, respectively.

Other members of the election manifesto committee are Prakash Joshi, Iqbal Bharti, Sundar Lal Muyal, Pradeep Joshi, Hira Singh Bisht, Shoorveer Singh Sajwan, Premanand Mahajan, Sunita Prakash, Qazi Nijammudin, Ganesh Godiyal, Surendra Arya, Ganesh Upadhyay, Gopal Dutt, Naveen Murari, Narendra Rautela, Mehar Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Rajendra Singh Negi, Santosh Chauhan and AP Amoli.
