Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar seems to have moved on from Rock On 2’s debacle. The actor has already taken his next movie head on, and will be seen in a Nikhil Advani production, titled Lucknow Central. The movie will be directed by debutant Ranjit Tiwari, and stars Kriti Sanon.
Interestingly, Kriti has shot extensively in Lucknow already, for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Bareilly Ki Barfi. Tell Farhan that and he chuckles. “Oh has she?” he asks. “Good, she can introduce me to some yummy food that Lucknow is famous for. This is my first time in Lucknow, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Farhan and his producer-partner, Ritesh Sidhwani’s back-to-back releases, Baar Baar Dekho and Rock On 2 have under performed at the box office, but they’re far from sulking over it. Farhan says, “We’re currently producing Fukrey 2 and then we go into Reema Kagti’s Gold with Akshay Kumar. Setbacks happen to every production house. Why should we sit back and sulk about it? We’ve always moved at our own pace and rhythm. After we produced Reema’s Talaash, we had a very big break in releases till Zoya’s (Akhtar) Dil Dhadakne Do, since there was so much pre-production work to be done on these films.”
