After three days of continuous naach-gaana, rapper Raftaar tied the knot with Delhi-based interior designer Komal Vohra on Thursday. Raftaar says that they chose to have a Punjabi wedding as that is more fun. Raftaar, real name Dilin Nair, told us, I am a Malayali boy but I have always stayed in Delhi, so I have attended more Punjabi weddings than Mallu ones. Mallu weddings are less hectic as they wrap up everything in a day.
Punjabi weddings have seven pheras, a Malayali wedding has three. Punjabi weddings go on for three-four days and they are lot more fun. All my close friends from the industry, like Badshah, Fazilpuria, Jaz Dhami and Aastha Gill were part of the wedding and were staying at my house, so it was three-four days of continuous dhamaal. Komal and I had a lot of fun throughout and it was just on the day of the wedding that both of us were sitting on a chair. We could see all our friends and family jumping around, dancing on the stage, which looked more like a concert stage. On the wedding day everyone else had fun while we just sat on those chairs completing rituals.

The morning after his wedding, while everyone was still resting and catching up on sleep, Raftaar says that he and his wife were sitting at the breakfast table and smiling. She said, Oh, we got married! So now are you going to call me a wife? Raftaar and Komal will head for work soon after wrapping up wedding celebrations. Since she is an interior designer, she has a few pending projects to complete and I have to get back to work. It is now that I have to get in more moolah, kharcha to ab aana hai na (laughs). The honeymoon will happen around March-April, says Raftaar.
