Bollywood actress Preity Zinta’s cousin Nitin Chauhan committed suicide on Friday morning in Shimla. Yes, Nitin shot himself with a pistol in a vehicle bearing the registration number HP 51 2089 near Sector 2, new Shimla. Soon, his family members informed the police after they saw blood near the car. Police received two suicide notes of four page each. Cops found one note from his care and the other from his home.

Reportedly, he blamed his estranged wife and in-laws for harassing him. He further even wrote that they have forced him to take the fatal decision. Nitin  also accused his in-laws of not allowing him to meet his son. Chauhan was separated from his wife two years ago and their divorce case was pending in the court. Nitin and his wife’s divorce case hearing was on Friday. Soon, after reading the suicide note cops have registered abutment to suicide case against his in-laws.

“The victim and his wife had separated two years ago. The case regarding legal separation was pending in the court,” a senior police official said. He further even said, “The hearing of the case was on Friday.” “In both suicide notes, of four pages each, Chauhan blamed his wife and in-laws of harassing him,” a police officer, who was on the spot, told Hindustan Times.

Nitin’s mother also told in her statement to the police that he was at home last night. But when she went to his room around midnight, he wasn’t there, she thought, he had gone for a drive. In the morning, they saw his vehicle parked roadside and blood near the car.

“We have not interrogated anyone but registered a case against those mentioned in suicide note,” a Shimla police officer said. Police is yet to trace the the source of weapon and they have send weapon for forensic examination. It is said that the weapon was not of the victim. Police has also sent his phone for forensic investigation and will note all call details.
