EOW launches probe into purchase of electronic equipments

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh State Bureau of Investigations has started a probe into the alleged irregularities in purchases of electronic equipment in 2010-11 under the Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mission.
EOW has written a letter to the directorate of public instruction (DPI) seeking all details pertaining to purchase of LFD and thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT) monitors. It is alleged that the officials concerned in collusion with a private firm had forged documents and violated procurement and tender procedures in purchase of LFD and TFT monitors.

The EOW has also sought details about the officers, whose named figured in the scam. A case has already been registered against them under various charges, including for cheating. The EOW notices mentioned the names of the then assistant director P Ramesh, additional director Pratima Awasthy, project director Ashutosh Chaware and DPI assistant Bajrang Prajapati.
