Ranike’s escort vehicle collides with car, 4 injured

BATHINDA: An escort vehicle attached with Punjab animal husbandry minister Gulzar Singh Ranike collided with a car on the Faridkot-Kotkapura road on Friday when he was going to Muktsar to preside over the 9th National Livestock Championship.
While Ranike escaped unhurt, four others, including security officer assistant sub-inspector Baljit Singh, were injured in the accident.
All of them are out of danger. The car of the minister too skidded off the road. Both vehicles were damaged.
Accordign to police, the pilot vehicle, a Maruti Gypsy, collided head on with a Hyundai Accent car on Faridkot-Kotkapura road. ASI Baljit, pilot vehicle’s driver Guranam Singh, car driver Manpreet Singh and co-passenger Jaskirat Singh sustained injuries. All four were admitted at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot, where doctors declared them out of danger.
Minister Ranike reached Muktsar and attended the livestock event. Faridkot senior superintendent of police (SSP) Darshan Singh Mann said, “Police are investigating the incident and appropriate action will be taken.”
